Kate Pemberton

Kate Pemberton started Haringey Literature Live in 2013 because she felt there was a lack of accessible provision locally for high quality writing activities, clubs, courses and events. She has been delighted to meet so many talented creative writers in Haringey since that time and is excited to be hosting the Start Your Writing Week group every Monday.

Kate has been working with writers since the 1990s as an editor, publisher and events organiser for Ambit magazine, and freelance as a literary editor helping writers hone their work. She likes facilitating group discussions and has a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling. She works as an English Language Mentor in Haringey, currently with a refugee group, as part of the project Create Your Future. She has done creative writing teaching with children and teenagers, and one-to-one with adults who have a very high level of English as a Foreign Language.
