Helen Gordon is the author of the novel Landfall (Penguin) and, with Travis Elborough, the anthology Being a Writer (Frances Lincoln). She is working on a second novel and a book of nature writing, Notes from Deep Time, to be published by Profile. Her journalism has appeared in, among other places, the Guardian, Wired UK and The Economist’s 1843 magazine. A former associate editor of Granta magazine and a contributing editor at Ambit magazine, she teaches creative writing at the University of Hertfordshire.
